A
Batch System is used for slurries and highly
concentrated Cyanide wastes of up to 100,000
mg/L. The Cyanide bearing waste is pumped
into a reactor vessel until a designated volume
is achieved. Reactor volumes can vary as existing
systems range from 20 to 1200 gallons or 80
to 4500 liters. Once the desired level in
the reactor is reached, the system is sealed
and the process begins. Depending on the waste
characteristics and the size of the batch,
cycle times are between 6 to 12 hours.
Depending on your specific Cyanide concentration,
our thermal hydrolysis Batch Systems can
provide a capital return in less than one
year. It is important to note that Batch
Cyanide Systems are the safest and only
viable way to treat concentrated Cyanide
wastes,
without dilution, to reach governmental
compliance levels. Since 1986 CDS has been
producing Thermal Hydrolysis systems. The
Batch system is a cost effective process
for large scale generators of concentrated
cyanide wastes such as spent plating baths
and contaminated solids or slurries.
